Weld Central FFA celebrated National FFA Week February 16th-20th, 2026. National FFA Week highlights the importance of agriculture in our local and national economy. Agriculture touches everyone, from the food on our tables to the clothes we wear.
On Tuesday of FFA Week, officers and members of the chapter served a Staff Appreciation Breakfast to all staff members at Weld Central. Also on Tuesday and Wednesday, students participated in the Ag Olympics during their Ag classes where they did an obstacle course related to agriculture and farming. Along with this, students did a scavenger hunt throughout the school to learn facts about agriculture and students wrote notes to local farmers to thank them for their hard work and contribution to our nation’s food supply.
On Wednesday, students went to a presentation in the auditorium with a guest speaker and from the officer team to learn about opportunities in agriculture, specifically in Colorado and through Colorado State University.
On Thursday, upperclassmen participated in the Food for America program where they went to the 4th grade classrooms at Hoff Elementary, Hudson Elementary, Lochbuie Elementary and Cardinal Community Academy and taught a lesson to these students about agriculture.
On Friday, 1st grade students from Hoff Elementary, Hudson Elementary, Meadow Ridge Elementary and Cardinal Community Academy came to the Barnyard Day event where high school students brought livestock and equipment to teach the young kids about farming in the community.
Overall, it was a great week celebrating National FFA Week! Weld Central FFA recognizes the hard work and dedication of our students, advisors, parents, and community supporters. Their commitment helps strengthen agricultural education and ensures a bright future for the next generation of leaders!
