Despite a steady mix of wind, rain, and unpredictable Colorado weather, more than 85 registered
attendees gathered on May 27 for an exclusive Southeast Weld County Chamber of Commerce
ribbon cutting celebration at the highly anticipated Rodeo Dunes Golf Club near Roggen.
The member-only event marked an important milestone for what is quickly becoming one
of the most talked-about developments in the region. Chamber members, community leaders,
business owners, and project supporters arrived with umbrellas in hand and smiles on their
faces, determined not to let the weather dampen the occasion.
To accommodate the large number of attendees and respect Rodeo Dunes’ parking limitations,
guests were transported to and from the site aboard two buses generously provided by the Weld
Re3J school district. Chamber officials expressed their sincere appreciation for the district’s
partnership, which helped ensure the event ran smoothly despite the challenging conditions.
Upon arrival, attendees were welcomed by Rodeo Dunes representatives, but an allcourse
evacuation created by the inclement weather delayed the ribbon cutting portion of the
festivities. One of the highlights of the afternoon was a visit to the temporary pro shop, where
guests enjoyed an early glimpse of the resort’s branding, merchandise, and vision for the future.
Each attendee also received a commemorative dual-branded golf ball featuring both the
Rodeo Dunes and Southeast Weld County Chamber logos-a unique keepsake marking the
occasion.
The ribbon cutting ceremony itself was held outdoors as participants weathered the wind
and rain together, demonstrating the enthusiasm and excitement surrounding the project.
Rather than detracting from the event, the challenging weather conditions became part of the
story, creating a memorable experience that attendees are unlikely to forget.
Following the traditional ribbon cutting, the Chamber continued with a new tradition of a
ceremonial ribbon pinning. The pinning symbolized the connection between Rodeo Dunes, the
Southeast Weld County Chamber of Commerce, and the communities they collectively serve.
Chamber Board President Marc Arnusch presented the pinned ribbon to the Rodeo Dunes team
as a lasting reminder of the partnership, collaboration, and shared commitment to the future
prosperity of the region.
The gesture reflected the Chamber’s belief that economic development is most successful
when businesses, community leaders, and residents work together toward a common vision. As
Rodeo Dunes continues to take shape, the pinned ribbon will serve as a visible reminder of the
relationships forged on that rainy May afternoon and the opportunities that lie ahead.

As attendees boarded the buses for the return trip, conversations centered on the scale of

destination that many believe will place Southeast Weld County firmly on the national golf map.
Sometimes the most memorable ribbon cuttings aren’t the ones with perfect weatherthey’re
the ones where a community comes together, embraces the elements, and celebrates
the future anyway.
