Southeast Weld County Jr. Fair Board President
Please join us to celebrate our 103rd year! When I say ours, I genuinely mean it; it belongs to all of us. Everyone who donates, volunteers, participates and cheers these kids on is part of what makes this fair one of the year’s most meaningful events. It is a privilege to carry on this legacy. As a proud Fair Board member and current President, I cannot express enough what an honor it is to serve alongside such dedicated individuals, follow in the footsteps of those who came before us, and help guide this incredible tradition into the future.
As the only independently operated 100% community-funded county fair in the state and perhaps the nation, the Southeast Weld County Fair is a unique testament to what a passionate, dedicated community can achieve. The fair thrives thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers, sponsors, businesses and families who believe deeply in supporting agriculture and youth involvement. With the theme “103 in the Land of the Free,” this event honors more than a century of rural tradition, youth development and unparalleled community support. Your contributions have made this possible; we could not be prouder of what we have achieved together.
Held annually, the fair is more than just a showcase of livestock and local talent, it is a testament to a vision planted over a century ago by forward-thinking founders who understood the importance of investing in youth and agriculture. What began as a small local gathering has evolved into a cornerstone event that continues to flourish thanks to the community’s support.
At its core, the Fair is about our youth and teaching them to leave excuses at the door and learn what it means to care for something beyond themselves. Participating in the fair allows for invaluable lessons in discipline, dedication and personal growth from livestock to general projects. Young exhibitors are encouraged to push themselves, take ownership, showcase their skills and be creative. Your support is crucial in shaping these young minds and fostering their growth.
One of the most anticipated events of the Fair is the annual Jr. Market Livestock Auction. It is not just a sale; it is a celebration of their dedication and a tangible reward for the months of early mornings and late nights and learning the ups and downs of agricultural life. Also, our general project add-on recognizes and supports our non-livestock exhibitors who have excelled in creativity in woodworking, sewing, cake decorating, mechanics, crops and many other projects.
Founded as the Keenesburg Fair Association, today’s Southeast Weld County Jr. Fair and Rodeo continues to be a gathering place for generations of families, where old friends reunite and new traditions and new friendships begin. So, please join us at the Southeast Weld County Fair as the fairgrounds always buzz with excitement and energy.
We look forward to seeing you this year. Whether it is the livestock shows that spark your interest, Junior Livestock Sale that brings out your generosity, or you are looking to support your favorite cake decorator, there is something for everyone. Watch the action-packed rodeo and events where our youth compete for that shiny new buckle or bring your appetite to enjoy the oh so delicious annual BBQ. We will also have outside food vendors to satisfy all your cravings. Maybe you are shopping for a new pair of jeans, a unique knick-knack, or that skid steer or tractor you have had your eye on. Or perhaps you want to spend quality time with family and friends, at the annual parade, the Southeast Weld County Fair has you covered.
Whatever brings you out, we invite you to stop by and say hi. We cannot wait to see you and share this wonderful experience. Your presence will make this event even more special. So, mark your calendars, invite your friends and family and let’s make the 103rd Southeast Weld County Fair a memorable one!
